Slant Six Games is seeking a FX Artist to create exciting real-time character and environmental FX, utilizing in-house creation tools.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the Art Director, Lead Artist and FX team to define VFX goals for a game, conceptualize, design and create visual effects for the project
• Work with all disciplines on a daily basis to effectively meet the aesthetic, stylistic and technical quality bar
• Work with FX team to create economical but compelling particle effects, 2D and 3D art assets, and animated texture sequences
• Detect significant problems and find the best "artistic/technical/organizational" compromise in collaboration with the production team
Required Skills, Abilities and Experience:
• Intimate knowledge of game development process from concept, pre-production, production, post production to final product release
• Demonstrate excellence as a VFX artist (motion, composting, animation)
• Solid experience of VFX editors and particle systems, know platforms and engine limits, maximize quality and manage risks
• In depth knowledge of the graphical aspects involved in game development related to VFXs
• Knowledge of industry standard 2D and 3D (Maya, Photoshop, after effects, etc...) DCC applications
• Next generation technology experience
• 3+ years of relevant experience within the games industry
• Experience as an animator, texture artist a major plus
